Our Team

Meet the individuals who make it all happen. We see big potential in every moment, and care deeply about what we do every day. Our goal is to be a first stop for people facing an unplanned pregnancy, to address at risk sexual behavior and to help build healthy families.

Megan Yturriaga

Executive Director

Executive Director of Alternatives Pregnancy Center since 2017. I have a Master’s degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan and a background in both social work and ministry. I'm from Indianapolis and moved to Iowa from Hawaii! I find one of the most rewarding things about Alternatives is “being in a compassionate environment that deeply believes in the inherent dignity and value of each person.”

Lindsay King

RN Nurse Manager

I have lived in the Cedar Valley since I was in high school, which is where I met my husband Luke. We’ve been married over 20 years and have 2 teenagers. I had been involved with Alternatives for many years, both as a volunteer and a donor. I felt God calling me to the position of nurse manager in 2011 and I feel blessed to be able to mentor and minister to our clients.

Cara Burke

Client Service Director

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother of 3 boys. I have been at Alternatives for 13 years (5 years as an advocate and 8 years as the Client Service Director ). Since I was in elementary school the passion was instilled in me for the women and babies that we serve here. My favorite things to do are spend time with my family, fellowship with friends, scrapbooking, and home improvement projects.

Dennette Stearns

Development Director

I'm the Development Director. My focus is on donor relations and diversifying our funding sources, to ensure long term financial stability. I am also a wife and mother of two. I love to sing and I'm on my church's worship team. I volunteered at Alternatives for four years, and have an intricate understanding of our ministry.

Carolina Arce

Community Relations Director

I moved to Cedar Falls in 2013 from Florida to attend UNI. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Family Services. I hope to make a difference in the community, and have a powerful impact on people's lives. It's an honor being part of a beautiful life changing ministry. The motto that drives my work and personal life is " faith filled and big thinking"
